Dental X-Ray

Dental X-rays are essential diagnostic tools used to visualize the internal structures of the teeth, gums, and jawbone. They help dentists detect problems that are not visible during a routine oral examination, such as cavities between teeth, bone loss, infections, or impacted teeth.

There are several types of dental X-rays, including bitewing, periapical, panoramic, and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Bitewing X-rays capture the upper and lower teeth in a specific area, helping to identify cavities between teeth and bone loss. Periapical X-rays provide a detailed view of the entire tooth, from the crown to the root, and are useful for diagnosing issues like root infections or abscesses. Panoramic X-rays offer a broad view of the entire mouth, including the jaws and sinuses, and are often used for assessing the overall dental structure. CBCT provides three-dimensional images for more complex cases, such as evaluating the precise placement of dental implants or diagnosing certain oral conditions.

The X-ray process is quick and involves minimal radiation exposure, as modern digital systems are highly efficient and use lower doses compared to traditional methods. Dental X-rays are crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning, ensuring effective and timely dental care.
